Bag or Bags?

When it comes to going out with your little one, you end up taking everything in your house but the kitchen sink, well I do anyway. Do you take just one bag or multiple? I’ve never taken Oscar out with just one bag, theres too much to take and I always make sure I’m prepared for those oops moments that Oscar has a lot of. Some people may say it’s excessive but this is what I carry round with me so I know I have everything and most of the time it ends up being used.

Changing Bag

First of all I take my main changing bag, this consists of the usual baby essentials. My changing bag was originally bought to match the colour of my pushchair as the bag it came with was far too small. It has so many pockets to fit things in, inside there are two deep pockets, I use one for first aid bits and bobs, bepanthen, thermometer, calpol and snuffle babe tub. The second one I use to store his pots of baby formula. Check out what essentials to pack in your baby bag here. Here’s a list of what I include in my bag:

  • Nappies
  • Wipes
  • Nappy Bags
  • Changing Mat
  • Bepanthen
  • First Aid Kit
  • Bibs & Muslins
  • Toys & Teddies
  • Extra Bottles
  • Formula In Tubs
  • Dummies & Teethers

Clothes Bag

I always take with me a clothes bag for clean clothes or soiled clothes. As Oscar 9 times out of 10 has an accident most days and his nappy ends up leaking or he smears food all over himself, I take an extra set of clothing. I purchased this bag from Poundland. Here’s a little list of what I include:

  • Spare Clothes
  • Spare Vest
  • Baby Grow
  • Extra Bibs
  • Socks
  • A Small Jacket
  • Hat, Scarf & Mits

Bottle Holder

This has to be by far the best invention, a double bottle holder that is insulated and keeps bottles warm for hours. I purchased mine from Mothercare for £5 and now its dropped down to £3! Honestly this thing is amazing! Once I use one bottle I fill up another spare bottle and replace to keep warm. I’ve used this from when Oscar was about 2 months old,  I never leave the house without it.

Lunch Bag

Now Oscar is weaning and is having finger foods I take a lunch bag around with me. When we go out we usually stay out all day so the majority of the time I need his lunch and dinner. When were at home I usually make homemade lunch and dinners for Oscar or he eats what we eat but when were out I take a lunch bag filled with pre made jars for ease. If we’re out and we pop to a cafe or restaurant he usually end up eating what we have or mixing. This bag was picked up from B&M. Here’s a little list of what we take:

I always take with me an extra blanket and rain cover under the stroller too. I literally take with me the equivalent of a small flat, but I know that I always end up using everything, even when we’re out and its getting late I’ll change Oscar into a baby grow ready for the night incase he ends up falling asleep in the car, we can just take him straight up to bed without disturbing him.
