As said in my previous posts, we’ve had so much going on this year and one of the major life events was, we got married! Now a Mrs W! It was the best day of my life on par with the day Oscar was born. From start to finish, it was incredible! 05.04.2019 – our 10 year anniversary of going out and we finally tied the knot.
I had the absolute privilege of my Nan walking Oscar down the aisle just before I entered, the moment Daddy broke down into tears. My little prince walking with his great grandma down the aisle to daddy, my heart was so full, my two favourite boys in the world.
I didn’t see the faces of anyone when Oscar walked down the aisle as I was still outside with my Dad waiting to walk down, but I’m absolutely over the moon the photographer captured this beautiful moment. Brett James Photography really was absolutely incredible, I cannot believe how much I am in love with the photos. A massive thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we absolutely love them.
I cannot believe the emotions that ran through me that day, we started wedding planning before I even found out I was pregnant with Oscar. I even purchased my dream wedding dress the month before I got pregnant! And to my absolute amazement, I had to have alterations because it was too big. Absolutely everything was perfect, nothing at all went wrong that day which I was extremely thankful for.
We didn’t have a big wedding, we had around 60 guests in the day and around 100 guests on the evening. The whole day just went way too quickly, the entire build up of the wedding and it was over in a day, but I wouldn’t have changed anything, it was the best day.
Oscar was absolutely golden for the entire day, he sat with his three grandma’s whilst we all had our wedding breakfast. I put little activity packs together for the kiddies to keep them entertained throughout the speeches which I must say worked an absolute treat. Inside them I included a colouring booklet, some crayons, bubbles and a toy snake. I wrapped them up in tissue paper so it gave them something to open and they couldn’t see inside. For the children favours I used some tiny little glass jars from Home Bargains, filled them with rainbow drops and added a little personal thank you message on them.
The flowergirls and pageboys looked so cute, the little girls wore a beautiful little blush dress to match the bridesmaids and a lovely flower garland crown. The pageboys wore a lovely blue suit to match the groomsmen. We tried so hard to make our wedding as DIY as possible trying to keep costs down. Thankfully we had family around us that really helped out with things, not just financially but time wise too.
I couldn’t thank everybody enough for everything they did for us that day and the time running upon to the wedding. The week before was the most stressful week I’ve ever encountered, I literally wouldn’t wish that amount of stress upon anyone. But it was so worth it on the day.
We had a fantastic wedding co-ordinator too who literally couldn’t do enough for us and the wedding party. We got married at my uncles church and my uncle married us, it was so special and personal. Our reception was held at The Heart of England, they were absolutely fantastic to us. Everything ran so smoothly thanks to our co-ordinator Kelly and her team.
Our cars were so beautiful too, I’ve had so many people ask where we hired our wedding cars from, Colin literally was amazing to us on the day. We had the roof down from the church to the venue which was around a 40 minute journey and he gave me a lovely fur wrap around to keep me warm. We had a lovely welcoming bottle of Prosecco which went down a treat and a beautiful little wooden heart with our names and date of the wedding on. It really was such a lovely touch. Beauford Cars really were fantastic to us, even when I stupidly left my phone in the back of the car, Colin turned around and brought it back to us.
I still cannot believe we’re married, I now have the same last surname as Oscar and Daddy. We had our Honeymoon on the 4th May. 10 Nights without my little pudding, as much as I absolutely loved the honeymoon and spending some time with Mr W, I couldn’t wait to get back home to Oscar. We FaceTimed him every single day, at least twice just so he didn’t forget about us. He had a wonderful time at both his nannies, he went to lots of lovely places.
I cannot believe how quick the time has gone since the wedding, I wish I could do it all over again.
Thank you for reading and keep your eyes peeled for another new post coming soon, for now,
The W’s x
