What baby doesn’t enjoy playtime? When he’s in the mood, (not tired or hungry) Oscar loves playtime. We have a variety of different products for Oscar from birth up until now at 7 months. You’d think he’d get bored of them seeing them everyday but when he plays it’s like he’s never seen them before. I try to encourage playtime with Oscar wether it be alone or with his cousins, playtime can also involve exercise to help strengthening core muscles and develop bone strength.
This is the same product we have but a different colour. We were bought this by a friend for our baby shower before Oscar arrived. When he was newborn he loved lying on this, he would sleep for hours all cuddled up. It is suitable from birth and can be used later on when baby needs support sitting up. The cosy includes three toys to attach to the soft material and two inflatable tubes that are covered in the same soft material and velcro which creates the sheet you lie baby on. Oscar really did enjoy chilling out in this cosy, he loved snuggling up to the sheep’s face as he drifted off to sleep as it was so soft and kept him warm.
This was another gift when Oscar was newborn, he still to this day loves this product. It is my godsend when i’m trying to get ready, keeps him entertained for half an hour whilst I put my face on and try to look a little more human. Oscar loves watching the lights flash different colours and the different music it plays, your baby can enjoy 30 minutes of music and lights. This product comes with a car shaped play mat so once your baby is sitting the over head mobile adjusts to size and can transform into a steering wheel. We take this with us when we go to the caravan for the weekend as it’s so easy to pack away and travel with and its definitely one of his favourites.
This should only be used when your little one can bare their own weight, recommended from 6 months of age. There are so many fun activities on this jumperoo, from spinning rattles to a hanging parrot your baby will be engaged for ages. Oscar absolutely loves bouncing in his jumperoo, it keeps him entertained whilst I do some housework or just want to put my feet up with a cuppa for 5 minutes. There are different setting do you can adjust the seat height as your baby grows, the seat has a full 360 turn so your little one can take full advantage.
Oscar has a jumperoo at our house and both of his nannies houses. He sees a lot of both of his nannies so it’s nice that he can still be kept entertained and have fun with his jumperoo when he’s not at home. He has this bouncer at my mums house, the seat again spins 360 and the design of the bouncer makes it a little easier to store away than my own jumperoo at home. You can adjust the height of the seat again and the bouncer has 4 activity stations. You can hang toys from the top bars of there jumparoo to try and help your baby reach out for things. Recommended from 6+ months, the piano lights up plays classic melodies and language learning in English, Spanish and French. Again, Oscar absolutely loves having a bounce and is kept entertained.
At Oscar’s other nannies he has this jumperoo, the legs are adjustable to height and they also extend to promote walking back and forth, at the minute he just slides. Suitable from 6+ months and the seat again is 360 rotating. There is a lot to do on this jumperoo, with multiple activities it will definitely keep your little one entertained for a while. Oscar loves watching the little bird above swaying as he bounces, it makes him laugh out loud.
Oscar has this exact bouncer but a different design, he had this as a gift when he was born. This bouncer has been an absolute live saver, we used it from about 2-3 weeks old up until now. It bounces itself with batteries of course to mimic the movements of being held and plays 30 minutes of continuous sounds. The toy bar keeps your little one entertained when they are younger but as we have found doesn’t work so much the older they get, but it had it’s use as it did keep him entertained. As Oscar now sits up he tries to sit up in the bouncer and we have to keep a constant eye on him because even though he’s strapped in he still manages to slide everywhere and wriggle in positions I never thought were possible in a bouncer. Oscar loves to take his naps in the bouncer because of the movements, sometimes on the lucky days he will lie in his bouncer with his blanket and just fall to sleep.
Oscar really enjoys sitting in his ball pit with all of his toys and just sits there for ages playing and talking to himself. At first because he wasn’t sitting up properly I’d sit him in his feeding seat just to give him more stability and to try and strengthen his muscles to sit up for himself. Now he can sit up on his own he loves to sit in the ball pit and spends forever just picking up different coloured balls and toys. He loves to lie in his ball pit and have a kick around to hear the sound of the balls ruffling around him.
I try to give Oscar as much playtime as possible, as some days I spend the whole day cleaning the house I alternate him from one thing to the next. He just loves to be entertain himself, apart from when he’s tired or hungry, I soon know about that! It’s good to know that the majority of the toys he plays with all contribute towards developing his motor skills and co-ordination, and let’s be honest it’s nice to have a sit down for 5 minutes with an actual hot drink.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post, please feel free to check out my others.
